    Tooth shape BW is primar-ily used for cutting pipes and sections. The tooth isalternately bevelled at 45°,breaks the chip in two andguarantees good chipevacuation. Tooth shape C is used forsolid sections or very thickpipes. The chip is shreddedinto three parts due to thepresence of both a finishingtooth without chamfer and apre-cutting tooth (longerthan 0.25 mm) with twochamfers on each side. Tooth shape BR has beensuccessfully introduced forcutting pipes. It has doublethe number of cutting edgesand guarantees a highernumber of cuts and a betterfinish to the section. It alsoimproves tool durability by about 20% because itreduces the removed section per each single sharpening. Tooth shape VP ,variablepitch, is used to cut veryirregularsections whichcause severe vibration andnoise. lt guarantees softercontact and offers a goodcompromise between cutduration and reduced vibration.

     

    Pitch Choice:In order to choose the right number of teeth,it is important to consider the section that needs to be cut and the materials.The pitch is correct when the teeth to section ratio is at least 1:3 for solid bars and 1:1 for pipes and structural shapes.
